The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and Carousel, the operator of coachcarousels.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why. It is part of this agreement and lives at coachcarousels.com/privacy.
What Carousel is
Carousel is a record of college football coaching staffs and staff moves, built from public sources. Every entry cites the page it came from. We work hard to get it right, and we correct mistakes when we find them or when you report them.
The record is still a record assembled by people and software from other people’s reporting. We do not guarantee that it is complete or free of errors, and you should not rely on it for any decision where an error would cost you something.
We may change, pause, or shut down any part of the site at any time. If we shut down a paid feature, we will refund the unused part of your plan.
Your account
You need an account to follow coaches and schools, receive notifications, contribute to the record, or buy a plan. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email; there is no password to keep.
- You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.
- One account per person. Keep control of the email address and Google account you sign in with, because anyone who controls them controls your Carousel account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Paid plans
The free plan gives you the whole record and a limited number of follows. The Fan plan raises that limit and adds instant notifications. Prices and limits are shown on the site when you buy.
- The Fan plan is billed in advance, either monthly or for a season, through Stripe. Stripe handles your card; we never see it.
- Your plan renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time and you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a payment fails, you keep your plan for seven days while we retry. If it still fails after that, your account returns to the free plan and anything over the free limits stops working until you fix the payment.
- We do not refund partial periods, except where the law requires it or where we shut down a paid feature.
- We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.
Contributions
Signed-in users can submit corrections and additions to the record. When you do, you are telling us that what you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and comes from a source you can point to.
- You give us a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, publish, and redistribute what you submit as part of the record.
- We review every contribution and may edit or decline it without explanation.
- Accepted contributions are credited to you. If you later delete your account, the contribution stays and the credit becomes anonymous.
- Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share, and do not submit private information about anyone. The record covers professional roles, not personal lives.
Using the record
You can read, search, link to, and quote the record freely for personal and editorial use. If you publish something based on it, credit Carousel and link to the page.
You may not:
- Copy the record in bulk, whether by scraping, automated requests, or any other means, without our written permission.
- Resell the record or use it to build a competing product.
- Use the site to harass anyone, including the people it documents.
- Interfere with the site, probe its security, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Use the site for anything illegal.
If you want to use the record in a way this section does not allow, write to hello@coachcarousels.com. We are usually happy to work something out.
Ownership
The compiled record, the site, its design, and its software belong to Carousel. The facts in the record belong to no one, and the pages we cite belong to their publishers. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of any of it.
The Carousel name and wordmark are ours. Do not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the site will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Carousel is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater.
Some places do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Ending the agreement
You can end it at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. If we close a paid account for a reason other than your breaking these terms, we will refund the unused part of your plan.
Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, no warranty, limits on liability, and governing law, survive the end of this agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Before filing anything, write to us. Most disagreements are a misunderstanding and can be sorted out in an email.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, we will update the date at the top. For a change that affects your rights or what you pay, we will tell signed-in users by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using the site after a change takes effect means you accept it.
